A new space to think about law in the age of AI

Since its founding in 2019, LabDerIA has sought to bridge two worlds that long regarded each other with suspicion: law and technology. Today we take another step with the opening of Lab Notes, a space where we will share reflections, findings, and questions that arise from our daily work.

What you will find here

Lab Notes does not aim to be a legal newspaper or a technology blog. They are, as the name suggests, notes from a laboratory: ideas in development, observations from the academic front lines, and analysis that seeks to connect what happens in courtrooms with what is being programmed in artificial intelligence laboratories.

Some topics we will cover:

  • AI regulation: The regulatory landscape in Mexico, the European Union, and Latin America
  • AI in courts: How judicial systems are adopting (or resisting) AI tools
  • Ethics and bias: The challenges of algorithmic fairness in the legal system
  • Predictions and verification: Reflections from our Predictions Observatory

A commitment to rigor and accessibility

Each note will be backed by verifiable sources and written with the intention of being accessible to both legal professionals and technologists. We believe the conversation about AI and law cannot remain in the halls of academia; it must reach those who make decisions, litigate cases, and design public policy.

Welcome to the laboratory. The notes are just beginning.
